Research & Resources in a Digital Age: UCD Irish Virtual Research Library and Archive

Aiken and de Valera image

This journal is published by the UCD Irish Virtual Research Library and Archive (IVRLA), a major new digital resource of Irish historical and cultural material. Scholars of Irish history and culture can access digital versions of valuable UCD archival material, including historically and culturally significant manuscripts, books, letters, maps, paintings, photographs, and ephemera, as well as the documentation of cultural artefacts and sites.

This volume reviews the repository's 32 curated collections, reports on 17 demonstrator research projects which were established to evaluate the integration of research with a digital repository, and examines the technical procedures followed in establishing the IVRLA open-access digital repository.
